If you are reading this in the days before your child starts with us, we want you to know something. What you are feeling right now is completely normal. The mix of excitement, worry, and that quiet guilt that creeps in when you wonder if you are doing the right thing. We see it in every family who walks through our doors for the first time.

And we want to reassure you. You are doing the right thing. Starting childcare is one of the most loving decisions a family can make for their little one.

Leaving is hard. Settling in takes time. Both of those things are okay.

Childcare Transition Tips for Families Starting at Little Jungle

We will not pretend that every child skips in on day one and never looks back. Some do. Many need a little more time and that is completely healthy. Tears at drop-off do not mean your child is struggling. They mean your child loves you and trusts you enough to show how they feel.

What we can tell you is this. Within minutes of you leaving, most children settle. They find something that catches their eye, a friendly face, a toy that looks interesting, and the morning begins. Our educators are experienced at guiding children gently through those first moments.

How we make the transition easier

We follow your child's lead Every child settles differently. We never rush the process or compare one child to another.

We keep you in the loop You will hear from us during the day so you can stop wondering and start feeling at ease.

We build trust slowly and gently

Inspired by our Reggio and Montessori approach, we let your child explore at their own pace without pressure.

We welcome your input You know your child better than anyone. Tell us what comforts them, what they love, and what they find tricky.

A note for the hard mornings

On the mornings when drop-off feels really difficult, here is something that helps. Keep your goodbye short, warm, and consistent. A long farewell, as loving as it is, can make it harder for your child to settle. A quick cuddle, a cheerful "see you this afternoon!" and a confident wave tells your child that you trust this place. And children take their cues from you.

You are not leaving your child. You are giving them a second place to belong.

This is not goodbye at the door. It is the beginning of something beautiful.

We will be the ones who notice the small things. The first time they reach for a friend's hand. The moment they laugh without looking back at the door. The quiet pride on their face when they figure something out.

You are not doing this alone. You never were. We are walking this with you, every single step of the way.
